2024 Challenge

You have been challenged to read your bible through this year

Purpose:

This Church, believing in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and as the sole rule of faith and practice, and acknowledging its adherence to all the teachings of Christ, is organized for the purpose of worship of God according to the teachings of His Word, to the practice of the precepts and examples of the church or our Lord Jesus Christ as set forth in the New Testament, and to preach and propagate among all people of the earth the Gospel of God’s salvation be personal faith in Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord. We recognize the King James version of the Bible as our guiding rule of faith and practices.

Affiliation:

This Church shall associate itself with other Churches of like faith & practice within a reasonable bound. This association of Churches should seek the fellowship with the district association, Progressive Association, and the larger association currently known as the Oklahoma State Association of Free Will Baptists. The Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Holdenville, Oklahoma, is affiliated with the National Association of Free Will Baptists. Its doctrinal position is the position prescribed in the Treatise of the National Association of Free Will Baptists.

Church Covenant:

Having given ourselves to God, by faith in Christ, and adopted the Word of God as our rule of faith and practice, we now give ourselves to one another by the will of God in this solemn covenant.
We promise, by His grace, to love and obey Him in all things, to avoid all appearance of evil, to abstain from all sinful amusements and unholy conformity to the world, from all sanction of the use and sale of intoxicating beverages, and to “provide things honest in the sight of all men.”
We agree faithfully to discharge our obligations in reference to the study of the Scriptures, secret prayer, family devotions, and social worship; and by self-denial, faith, and good works endeavor to “grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together for church conferences, public worship, and the observance of the ordinances of the Gospel; nor fail to pay according to our ability for the support of the church, of its poor, and all its benevolent work.
We agree to accept Christian admonition and reproof with meekness, and to watch over one another in love, endeavoring to “keep the unity of the Spirit” in the bonds of peace, to be careful of one another’s happiness and reputation, and seek to strengthen the weak, encourage the afflicted, admonish the erring, and as far as we are able, promote the success of the church and of the Gospel.
We will everywhere hold Christian principle scared and Christian obligations and enterprises supreme; counting it our chief business in life to extend the influence of Christ in society, constantly praying and toiling that the Kingdom of God may come, and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
To this end we agree to labor for the promotion of educational and denominational enterprises, the support of missions, the success of Sunday schools, and evangelistic efforts for the salvation of the world. And may the God of peace sanctify us wholly and preserve us blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

FAITH YOUTH MINISTRIES

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 54:17

Faith Youth Groups

Mission Statement:

Our Main goal here at Faith Free Will Baptist Church is to build-up our young people for a lifelong service to the Lord, based off our key bible verse, Isaiah 54:17. We will obtain this goal through various programs that we offer here at Faith, within our youth ministries.

Ladies Auxiliary of Faith Free Will Baptist Church

Scriptural Background

We can observe from our reading of the Bible that women have always been active in playing host to many events in the life of Christ-take Mary and Martha, for instance.

The bible also teaches that we are to be hospitable, kind, and benevolent in giving to the poor. 1 Corinthians 3:9 tells us to be laborers together with God. Romans 12:13 says, “Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.” There are many examples in the bible of women who have given their life in service to God-Hannah who allowed her son to be trained in the temple by Eli, the priest; the widow who prepared cakes with what little meal and oil that she had for Elijah; the widow’s mite; then, there was the anointing of Jesus’ feet by the woman who anointed his feet with expensive ointment and wiped them with her hair to dry them; and of course, there is the discourse there Jesus said,”…Verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:26) It is the responsibility of every Christian to do all these things and more. It is a privilege and honor that we can be of service to God and our church.

Invitation

Any lady of the church who would like to be a part of this great ministry, we invite you to join us each third Thursday evening at 6:00 PM in the fellowship hall.

1 Corinthians 3:9

“For we are labourers together with God…”

Mission Statement

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church is a very active group of ladies (12 and up) that has a very specific purpose in our church. Our mission is to be the arm of the church that promotes and is actively involved in missions locally, statewide, and internationally. Below is a list of activities that we have participated in that shows our various outreaches.

Mission Outreach

  1. We give $25.00 monthly to TSP (Total Support Program) our state organization. This goes to support missionaries here at home and abroad.

  2. We give from $100.00 to $300.00 twice a year to Mexico’s Children’s Home as well as to our Children’s Home in Greenville, North Carolina.

  3. We collect goods to be distributed to the Homeless in Oklahoma City and Shawnee through our denominational program known as Arms of Compassion. This is an ongoing activity throughout the year.

  4. We sponsor dinners here at the church to raise money for various activities such as the Children’s Park behind the church.

  5. We annually prepare gift bags for all of our nursing home residents and shut-ins at Christmas time.

  6. We provide gifts for needy children in our church at Christmas time.

  7. We sponsor the annual fishing tournament for the men and young boys of the church each June around Father’s Day to promote their comradeship. At this time, we also sponsor a Cookie Contest for the younger age children and girls. Although the prizes are not super large, it is enough to encourage effort.

  8. We often help teachers who attend church with needed school supplies for teachers and students as well.

  9. We are responsible for the preparation of meals for those associated with our church who pass on to be with the Lord.

  10. We hold bridal showers and baby showers for those of our congregation.

  11. We also have dinners for other occasions as we deem necessary: receptions before revivals, TSP dinners, Bible College dinners, and others as well.

  12. Occasionally, at Christmas time the auxiliary sponsors a Christmas Post Office for the church. People may bring Christmas Cards for other members of the church. They will be filed under their name and picked up weekly. No charge for postage is necessary but we do ask for a small donation for the auxiliary for the service if it can be afforded.

  13. There are times that we also participate in the Toys for Tots at Christmas or join in with the Mother’s Club of Holdenville to help the needy of the community to have Christmas for the little ones.
